A Bit About Me...

I am an NCTJ qualified journalist with research and news-room experience.

My journalism training at News Associates has allowed me to hone many multimedia journalism skills and publish many articles. So far I have bylines for: PolyesterZine, Vittles Magazine, Bristol24/7, Epigram (and The Croft Magazine), The Bristorian, The Londoners.

Currently I operate my very own voluntary publication Hot Source Magazine which focuses on Current Affairs, Food, Feature and Pop Culture essays, and comes with its own Substack Newsletter, TikTok, and Instagram which I generate creative content for, all on my own. I have experience in presenting myself eloquently on social media short-form videos, with the intention of organic quality content and fostering a community for early-career writers and journalists to publish their works. I built the branding of this publication from the ground up and I hope to help more writers get published in 2025.

Simultaneously I am also in charge of PR & Admin for Empoword Journalism and a Contributing Food and Culture Editor for Halflight Magazine.

I also have experience working as a researcher in the ITV news production team during the 2024 UK general Elections.

Currently I'm open to take on more freelance shifts in news, social media content creation, and also publish more articles.

I graduated from the University of Bristol, where I studied BSc Politics and Philosophy (2:1) for my undergraduate degree and also completed a dissertation on food and politics titled: "Gastronationalism in the UK: An exploration of Nationalism and Food within the South Asian Restaurant Community in London".

Whilst at University, I was also the Food Editor for The Croft Magazine, a Digital + Sub-editor for The Bristorian and a regular contributing writer for Epigram.

Aside from journalism I also have experience as a Chef working in kitchens such as The Wave (Bristol), Kolae (Borough Market), and Parlour (Kensal). Hence I also hone skills in recipe development and food writing.

I am a former Asylum Seeker and have therefore struggled in the past to secure internships due to financial barriers and also legal barriers on work hours. I am open to opportunities in the media and Journalism industry as my passion for this profession has not wavered.
